Some might already know that Lanvin recently celebrated its 120th birthday. Late last year a special invite-only event marked the occasion, with Alber Elbaz unveiling some of the first pieces he designed as a tribute to Jeanne Lanvin, who back in 1889 moved into the 22 rue Saint Faubourg-Honore location (where the women's flagship still remains today) and opened her business as a milliner. The commemorative items include everything from canvas totes, t-shirts, special edition Lanvin dolls and other cute pieces such as pens, fans or umbrellas - all illustrated by Elbaz of course. But nothing would be complete without special windows in the flagship where it all started.
As usual Elbaz has gone all out and these windows not only show the usual whimsical side of fashion he's so fond of, but are a bit more eye-catching than usual thanks to the neon lights which either spell out words or take the shape of certain accessories. Aside from that, I adored the extra bling given to the mannequins' faces, so this post will be a little more image-heavy than usual, as I tried to capture all the details. If you missed any of the previous Lanvin windows, go here. As usual, any images can be enlarged by clicking on them.

ReplyDeletewow so beautiful!! How're you?? hope everything is great, I'm having by blog bday check the new giveaway :))
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's sad, but I would be happy just to get even an empty Lanvin box. Such a pretty shade of blue, they looks pretty in those window displays with all the different ribbon colors.
ReplyDeleteOh what a funny coincidence!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was for a short trip in Paris I also took a few photos of these wonderful Lanvin windows ;)
To see everything especially in the dark with all the lights is so nice to see!
Love especially all the eyecatching "Make Up"!!!
Unfortunately I was not able to get inside as the store was already closed, same on sunday ... ;( Aaahh ;)
Good Night & Sweet Dreams!
Bonnuit!
What stunning windows! Lanvin is my favourite! I recently got a Happy 120 Lanvin umbrella. I love it so much! Great blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with this display - it might be one of my favorites ever. The neon lights are such a great contrast to the soft Lanvin pieces. I especially love the bowtie in lights!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute. Happy, Happy Birthday Lanvin! These window displays are just fabulous!! :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, I can finally comment!
ReplyDeleteSheesh...darn Blogger bugging out.
I love Lanvin windows as is. Add some bling and whoa, love even more. I especially love the lady in blue/violet with the amazing lashes. I'd have so much fun in that window. Reminds me of when I worked retail back in High School, at the mall. People walking by actually thought I was a mannequin...14 years later and I still not sure how I should take that, LOL.
xo
p.s. Thanks for answering my Q :) Yeah, it's tough going to restos, some in Toronto can get quite snooty when they find out we don't drink. Ah well, c'est la vie.
The faces on those mannequins are so perfectly Lanvin. Love it.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteawesome photos, fantastic inspiration

Ah, so much fun! Personally, I love the Rue Saint Faubourg-Honore, even if Parisiens sometimes sniff at it.
ReplyDeletewow, i'm amazed by these window displays!
ReplyDeleteI found Prague extremely unique and completely different from Florence. (I have never been to Paris) Since Prague was under the Communist rule until fairly recently, it was kept virtually untouched by the modern world for many years and so to me it felt like stepping back in time.
ReplyDeleteI can see your point however, when one travels throughout Europe there are definitely similarites. The bridges and the cobblestones are generally everywhere it seems! :)
I so adore lanvin and these pictures have just cemented my love even more!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Love the window displays and the Happy 120 items are soo cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday indeed!Thank you for sharing the pictures of new window displays at Lanvin. I have to say that I am absolutely in love with his new Collection and treated myself to a new Lanvin doll (the one that is jumping out of the cake :-)) Just wish I could be back in London or Paris to stop by Lanvin store.Wishing you the very fabulous Tuesday. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy tuesday to you!
ReplyDeleteHad to smile about your comment... see us already in the night in the Lanvin store, do you think we could do a post about it ?;)
We could write a letter to Monsieur Elbaz and put it in the little "cash desk room" ;)
The temperatures here are unbelievable!! The street here is once frozen surface and so are most of the other streets, too. The city has not enough salt ... and the temperatures are going more down over the night...
Have a relaxing evening in Paris!!!
He does such an amazing job with those windows! They are over the top and that is why they are so fun to look at. It would be cool to sit and watch him actually set it up:)
ReplyDeleteHope all is well in Paris!
