While I may not be the biggest Louis Vuitton fan on the planet (I see too many of their bags on a daily basis - don't mind the large trunks though), they tend to have some pretty nifty windows and this season I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw in both the Paris and London flagships. The Parisian displays emphasized LV's tradition by showcasing layers and piles of yarn, leather and other materials in a workshop setting. The British on the other hand relied on a few feathered creatures to spice up their windows. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably choose the latter, simply because I'm a sucker for humorous displays - especially coming from a large fashion house.
So which do you prefer?

Interesting how the two stores have such contrasting displays (busy vs. restrained), They are both pretty, though. I really like the shoes hatching out of the eggs.
ReplyDeleteI think both of interesting and cool but my vote is the Parisian windows.
ReplyDelete♥
I'll be there soon too :D Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteso amazing, I have missed your blog!
ReplyDeleteYour posts have got me thinking more about a career in visual presentation! These store fronts are amazing!!!
ReplyDeletei love looking in the windows of high end stores..always lovely
ReplyDeleteHmm they both are pretty interesting to look at, but like you I do appreciate humour in fashion so I'll go with London's window!
ReplyDeleteOmg definitely love the U.K. displays, simple, minimalistic but with an odd twist that is enough to keep my attention, the parisian location was way too busy for my eyes, too much confusion and dissaray lol
ReplyDeleteI have to say, as much as I dislike LV bags lately (it seams every schoolgirl thinks that LV is an absolutely must have) I am stunned by the beauty of the window display. They are so unique and creative! One of the best, I think, I saw this Fall. Thank you so very much for giving me such a joy.:-)))
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a cup of coffee with you and Paris!I promise to let you know as soon as will have a clear understanding of my schedule in Paris. Right now it is still in the making.:-) Have a very beautiful weekend!
me prefers the funny one :)
ReplyDeletewow. your blog is amazing.
ReplyDeletemy favourite has to be the london one. i LOVE pink- and that last photo is so cool.
xx
I do not window shop, I window admire like you.
ReplyDeleteI was fortunate enough to be in Paris last Christmas and the window displays were over the top.
Then again, everything is beautifully presented year round in Paris, even the cheese.

Both are so much fun. I love the London one.
ReplyDeletelol..the ostrich eggs hatching eggs! So awesome! I love Luis Vuitton's windows displays...so hilarious and cool! xoxoxoxoo
ReplyDeletei'm with you, logo overload on cheap copies, unfortunately for them. love the pink padded display personally

Now this is playful... just what a perfect fall stroll needs. Then you rush onto to Ladurée's and get some more colored treats. Stroll down the Champs... and are just simply, incredibly happy!
ReplyDeleteFabulous pics, darling!
ReplyDeleteLove these windows!

LOL! The British one, for sure! I too am a sucker for humorous displays. Oh, and what I wouldn't give for that trunk!
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan either. But you are tight about these windows. They are different than usual, right? Very creative.

These windows are all so creative! My favorite is the one with spools of thread ... I love all of the different colors, and it's so orderly without being redundant. Fantastic!

Love virtually window shopping with you!
ReplyDeleteLoving the spools and the sketches, I wish they had more displays like that. I always feel awkward walking into Louis Vuitton, the London store is always packed full of people trying to buy the pieces with the largest monograms on them...
ReplyDeleteOh I just love both but if I had to choose one I'd go with Paris just for the trunk :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
um, their display windows are PRETTY RADICAL. and infinitely more interesting than seeing their ho-hum bags in person! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are very beautiful shop windows... I love what they've done with the spools of thread. They're so vibrant too!
ReplyDeleteI like the LV suitcases more than the bags too. :)
Oohh my, the ostrich display cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteHi there-my vote goes to Paris, adore the colourful display and I want that trunk too, lol!! x
ReplyDeleteHAHA OMGOODNESS they're BOTH soooo CUTE!
ReplyDeletei think the latter one is more creative in sense of an idea.

ReplyDeleteI love the colorful displays, but my favorite is the ostrich! So fun and original! BTW - I wrote about the US Open a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed myself, though it was my first time at a match and I don't know much about the sport :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the colorful dangling feet molds from the Paris windows but the ones from the London store are truly fabulous too cute!

I love how different the window displays are at each of the shops - very fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the London displays :)
ReplyDeletefireworks of colors. must say both windows are creative and vibrant tho just like you I am not fan of LV. not to mention the logos bags. every time I see that bag fashion becomes something scary.
ReplyDeleteI got to go to the Louis Vuitton in Paris a few years ago...I loved it. The storefront photos here are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI wish the LV in my mall had such pretty displays! These are so eye catching and beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Great blog!

LV has amazing storefronts. Even though their bags aren't usually my favorite. The store is ALWAYS a stunningly beautiful display on craftsmanship and creativity.
ReplyDeleteFabulous blog! Love the shoes with the eggs and also the mannequins display...thank you for your comment and the Shanghai Tang bracelets was a birthday present from my sister, I love it!
ReplyDeleteKisses and see you again!

The ostrich window display is just wonderful! I love the shoes being in eggs and the neck as a place for bags to live. Very imaginative. All the window displays are pretty fantastic to be honest.

Love the spools of thread, the colorful footwear and the sketches!!
ReplyDeleteI am having an interactive "Style Me Pretty" blog giveaway... I would love it if you joined!
They are both great, I find. I'm in love with all the colours in the Parisian window, but the London display is just hilarious. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhilst I am not overly keen on anything LV except their vintage leather cases - I must confes that the Paris window is very nicely dressed. You preparing for the Paris Fashion Week? We must meet up, then;-)
ReplyDeleteomg that is so cool! I love the display, and so colorful too. I wish they'd make some with silver instead of gold hardware though cuz I got so much silver jewelry and shoes
ReplyDeleteLovely displays and I love reading your posts.=)
ReplyDeleteRe: Thanks sweetie.
I wonder if they sell those ostriches somewhere? HA!
ReplyDeletei love window design... so creative and the best marketing tool!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, they're both so amazing, it's hard to choose a favorite. But I'm partial to shoes that hatch out of ostrich eggs.
ReplyDeleteFantastic windows...xv
ReplyDeleteBoth windows look great. I too am not a big fan of Luis Vuitton, but their window displays are usually very creative.
ReplyDeletex
these look AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly like you: I don't really like Louis Vuitton that much and never have, so I never ever shop there. But their stores always look amazing, so I always look at their windows (there is a store close to where I live) and sometimes even pop in just to look around.
ReplyDeleteLouis Vuitton is probably the only brand where I love the stores, but not the merchandise, usually it is the other way around!
Hard to choose, but I think the slices of patent leather win me over to the Parisian side! I'm also a sucker for kaleidoscopic colors in general, so the thread spools and dangling shoes were pure eye candy for me. I do, however, love the idea of hatching shoes... Maybe Vuitton should switch from couture to interior design!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
