I'd like to thank everyone for the comments in the last post - I'm feeling much better now (although there's something to be said about lying on the couch all day). Anyway, I haven't done one of my beloved Lanvin posts in ages and if you're new to this blog, you'll quickly realize that the Lanvin boutique goes out of its way to display something out of the ordinary. Please click here to see some of their previous visual wonders. I'm way behind in posting these, because as I'm typing, newer (more Halloween related) windows are already up.
These windows may not be as exciting to some, because the usual dramatic mannequin poses have been replaced by something else. This time the windows were created in collaboration with Jean Yves and Tania & Vincent, who were in charge of the photography and installation. From what I can gather, the whole concept behind these windows is to demonstrate the importance of technology and how much people rely on photos, videos and other digital media to communicate with each other. The usual mannequin heads have been covered by giant posters of 'real' people or replaced with LCD monitors showing pre-recorded video footage of people talking, while various digital screens displayed random snippets of conversations.

I'm also way behind on posting and passing on awards, so apologies this took so long. Thank you to everyone who gave me an award. I'm very honored to have received all these! First up, I received the One Lovely Blog Award from the lovely Sharon Rose and stylish Fashionista. I also received the Kreativ Blogger Award from my fellow fab Parisienne Susu Paris Chic.

The second award comes with a tag to list 10 interesting things about me, but I'll cheat and refer you to this post, where I listed these facts before. I will however be answering another tag at the end of this post. I know many people have received the above awards already, so I'd like to share these awards with all of my readers.
Next up, the wonderful Janetteria gave me the I Love Your Blog award:

Love this! :-) Hong Kong? Oh, what a surprise...I love reading as always!
ReplyDeleteXoXo
the display is pretty neat. I like the first pic display window the most. I've never seen something like that before. haha some neon is okay! As long as the person doesn't dress in ALL neon maybe a neon tank or a bracelet here is alright... hope you feel less exhausted this weekend, take care!
ReplyDeleteoh, that is amazing, darling! I love those shopping windows so much!
ReplyDeleteand I love your list, too. good to gain new information about the ones you admire :)

ReplyDeletethis is so interesting. and so arty. and still fashion-y. i love it. it totally speaks to (and possibly criticizes) our current way of life, but it does it in such a beautiful manner. lanvin display folks have knocked this one out of the park. truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteI want to buy whatever they are selling!
ReplyDeleteBetsy

Nice to learn a little bit about you - my husband makes great lasagna too;)
Now I've got to become a follower and read more of your blog.
Have a lovely weekend!
I'm so glad you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these gorgeous Lanvin windows (I loved the ones from your previous posts too). I love that they aren't just about showing off the latest wares, but have some social commentary mixed in.
Love the tag list too! Cath and I would be in heaven if we could eat dim sum in Hong Kong (we've never been, but our father's fam is from just outside of Hong Kong in southern China).
Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
Thank you for your flattering words!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace I wear is just one not several, I know you can't appreciate it in the pic.
You know what? Lavin is one of my fav, Alber Elbaz knows how to stand out the femenine.
mwwas!
I have never seen such amazingly creative window displays! They really have an impact on window shopper and lead to have a closer look into the store.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting those pictures!
P.s. to your question:
Some of the pieces have a much better quality (genuine leather) whereas others are a bit disappointing such as an evening clutch that is made of plastic! Overall this collection is not comparable to Jimmy Choos real ones, but for an average consumer a chance to afford some pair of shoes made/signed by a designer's name.
That display with screens looks amazing! Let's hope Santa answers our letters.
ReplyDeleteThose displays are very interesting!
ReplyDeletethose windows are awesome - love it xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteLanvin Is so creative I just adore.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the awards, hon! And soooo glad to hear you are feeling better :) Now you can enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love all your Lanvin posts. The windows are so fabulous I think "how will they outdo that?" and then they do. Oh I just love it.
So strange, that I envisioned you with short hair! Oh I'm so intrigued :)
Yes, children crying on the plane...I want kids but then at those times I'm secretly relieved it's just S and I...how terrible!
Love your answers, love the bow ties and I have a feeling I'm going to love your over-the-knee boots.
ReplyDeleteWould you wear them to work? That's my million dollar question.

ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend and happy halloween ! xoox .
I took a look at the linked post - ten things about you - and I have to say that I smiled when I read your say "Paris is all about that draped slouchy look". Effortless, I-just-threw-it-on look.
ReplyDeleteParis has changed my way of living fashion on daily basis. I must have gotten more conscious, first of all, and also more daring. I like the way this city is working on me though... I love Paris, probably more than the real, born-in-Paris folk do. And I'm proud to tell it out loud.
The play with the legs on the Lanvin windows is quite funny... the rest, like you say, less so.
That's so clever of them to incorporate the digital age influence into their design. What a great concept. It's interactive, fun and interesting!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're now feeling better. It's not good to be sick these days! =)
Gorgeous! Lanvin's shop is soo COOL! very experimental..that's what it's comming! well done!
ReplyDeleteI quite like these Lanvin windows, especially the first one. and congrats on all the awards.
ReplyDeleteThe bow tiesssss!! Just looking at that makes me SO happy :) What a wonderful display, I am loving the use of the screens, it's contemporary and yet it still feels oddly classic and suitable. I would just love to sit in one of the meetings where they come up with their displays, they are always so beautifully artistic. Oh, and yay for DSM! Hope you're having a fabulous Halloween weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, darling! I am so flattered!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend! xoxox
I love these Lanvin windows, humorous and creative! And I totally relish the concept of your blog. Glad to have found another Eddie Vedder lover. Thanks for the comment. I'll be tuning in!
ReplyDeleteI adore Lanvin's style - so classy, but daring at the same time!
ReplyDeletexx

See you soon.

ReplyDeletex raez
hiya! this post is just so wonderful - it is great to see how a house as lavin interpret halloween theme and i had to say, it is not disappointed at all .... lately, i have been quite intrigued about the whole idea of palying juxtaposition amongst human image and different proportion and those window displays really did a marvelous job with that concept -
ReplyDeleteand thanks for understanding the part with my parents in the interview - it is always great to meet people cross the globel and somehow realize there are so many things in common - have a lovely week ahead of you, xx
ADORE the display of bow ties in the first pic!! Such a cute and creative display! :)
ReplyDeleteNo shock there that they would have an edge to their displays. And macaroons...YUM!
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning, so many fantastic bowties, it's times like these I wish I was a well dressed man.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning!!! Thanks for sharing! Congrats on the awards!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment on my blog :)

hey i like this! i like the little bows encapsulated in those glass tower things. reminds me of the rose in beauty and the beast but also of the boquet things on gravestones...
ReplyDeleteLove the art!, and the window displays are gorgeous! especially those signs that were used, so cool!
ReplyDeleteLove these window displays and I do like the idea to insert the LCD screens.. fitting for the concept. Fab tag as well. I want to go to Hong Kong sometime soon and nothing's better than Dim Sum! Enjoyed reading this post!
