Odziezowe Pole (Warsaw, Poland)

Most stores along the popular shopping streets Nowy Striat and Ulica Mokotowska seem to feature mainly international designer labels, including the two boutiques I mentioned in my previous posts. One of the exceptions is Odziezowe Pole (meaning "in the fields of clothes") - something of a mini-concept store - which showcases clothes from some of the most talented local fashion designers.

Upon entering this little shop, I found myself in an empty cafe. But once I made my way down the stairs to the lower level, I was greeted with racks of dresses, blouses and jackets - all on sale of course. Clothing seemed to be sorted by color and category, which was extremely helpful, because I didn't know where to start. The designs are beautiful in their simplicity and workmanship, from the long silk evening dresses in muted colors to the cute wool pea coats in bold yellow or orange.

As the sales were on, all items were incredibly reasonable. An example: the silk dresses cost about 299 PLN (65 EUR/85 USD), the regular price would have been double that, which is still not bad considering the materials used. I was also told that none of these designs are mass-produced, so if you do end up buying something, it's definitely going to be unique. Best place to pick up a souvenir if you're ever in Warsaw!
