I might have a bit of a love-hate relationship when it comes to Louis Vuitton (not a fan of the monogram bags, yet certain collections, shoes and large cases are drool-worthy), but if there's one thing that will make me go anywhere near a tourist-laden flagship of theirs, it's the creative store windows.
This time around, London's Bond Street boutique had an amusement park theme, which saw keychains, bags and boots go on (moving) ferris wheel rides, while suitcases enjoyed the (stationary) roller coasters instead. Unfortunately the mannequins themselves didn't get to join in, but at least one of them attempted to hang upside down from the rails...

to be honest, I'm not over the moon about Louis Vuitton (shameful, I know), but I do think this display is fantastic! Very creative.
ReplyDeletehave a great day!
i had no idea they dressed their window displays like that. a great combination of fun and fab!
ReplyDeleteMe too, I love the Paris Louis Vuitton windows. A few years ago my brother did huge parasols for them, they were amazing - maybe you saw them?
ReplyDeleteI love this!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful ... LV is capable of such good but at the moment I am very cross with the company's legal team suing artists for using iconic LV imagery. Seems a bit contradictory and mean. Bad LV!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun display!
ReplyDeleteI love LV in small doses! These window displays are amazing-they make me want to visit an amusement park, with all of those roller coaster tracks going through them :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool and original idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat display with the ferris wheels. I thought I was the only one who wasn't a fan of those (ugly) monogrammed bags.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you,
Mimi
Amazing...love the bags on the roller coaster !

same here! not a fan of the classic monogram stuff at all (hm, shawls and head scarfs are ok though), but the window display is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat does look really cool. Definitley a great shop front.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous fun window display! So happy and summery. Like a burst of joy covered in gold sparkles. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so very much like you when it comes to LV. I would only carry a monogram bag if somebody actually paid me to do that otherwise, if I had it as a freebie, I'd sell it straight away :), but I do like the clothes (fall 2010 was sooooooooooooo me, and I also adore pieces from Cruise 2011), some shoes (again we are talking fall 2010, plus Coquette pumps and yummy girly cruise footwear and scarves.
Thanks so much for your wonderful post. Great, as always.
Hope you are well and enjoying spring!

that is such a wonderful display !
ReplyDeleteim totally loving it !
glisters and blisters
Wow!! I adore this store-front diaplay! And I love how the "rollercoaster" weaves through the various windows....genius!
ReplyDeleteWhat an idea! :D I love a lot and yepp, genius!

Awesome display!
ReplyDeleteLove that luggage!
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pics, darling!

LV has a bottomless pit of money to live out their fantasies. So it comes as no surprise to me that they can afford to indulge in such splendor. Their fall 2011 show was an example of big money and great creativity at work which it's best known for. I like it!
ReplyDeleteI have a love-hate relationship too (just like with Coach). None of the monogram bags appeal to me, and I much rather have a nice, clean leather handbag. The window displays, however, display the luxury that LV is known for!

Love this, sweetie! I'm with u...I have a love/hate with them too. The problem is definitely the monogrammed bags but I've also been known to swoon over an item or two :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt funny because I do not like Louis Vuitton bags. Far too much branding for my tastes. But I love their clothing.
ReplyDeletenow this is a window for me and all the fans of luna parks
ReplyDeleteThey're really good at catching our attention, aren't they? I love that they put the mannequin upside down! I thought that was really creative and fun! We have a huge Louis Vuitton store in Waikiki and they're always a pleasure for the eyes! I envy whoever has this job of creating awesome displays! xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWow that's a lovely display!
ReplyDeleteHi my dear-wow, this is a stunning window display, so unique and looks fabulous xx
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously one of the most clever store window display ideas I have ever seen. Love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, so cool! I just love creative and stylish window displays like this :)
ReplyDeleteHugs xx Camille @ Paris in Pink
this looks so amazing. i love it.
ReplyDeletethanks for always sharing such inspirational shop windows and photos from inside of shops ;) great idea

ooh i want to visit this LV store
ReplyDeletei second the notion of having a love/hate relationship with lv. in fact, i am a little more hostile than you and i get a bit PEEVED when lv churns out something that i like. lol!
ReplyDeleteand your comment cracked me up. you are so right -- it is MUCH EASIER to earn pet love from a dog than from a cat!
Love the fairground theme and yes, the LV monograms were abit of turn off, they were everywhere for a while. I'm starting to see more and more early 90's designer label gold hardware lagain on clothing and bags. So here's hoping the dreaded ripped off LV bags don't also eventually return

I always love their store windows. Each time I pass by a LV store I need to stop and check out the windows
ReplyDeletelovee LV :) so fab
ReplyDeleteI love the windows that you show us here in your blog, I am delighted.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, take care.
xxxxxxxxxx
Oh my. How fun is that? Love it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you too. I'm definitely over all of the monogrammed stuff.
your photos and posts are always so nice! great info on here..now following, i hope you can also! i just started and i would really appreciate the support :-) thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThe ferris wheel is amazing! What a clever window.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
Such a great idea! But I do know what you mean about the love/hate relationship with LV, it's the same thing for me. I don't like the logos at all, and I also think the company has done some not very nice things, but they are very creative indeed, gotta love that!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about LV! I hate to see the (fake) monograms everywhere, but they do have certain nice clothes and accessories to be fair.
ReplyDeleteThis window looks stunning! I wonder how much they've spent on creating all this :) I guess that's not an issue for them.
That is so funny! I might have to take a trip to central and have a look. And I also have a love/hate relationship with LV, and I can't make up my mind if I like the brand or not.
ReplyDeleteMY FAVORITE STORE!!! I really can spend hours here!
ReplyDeleteDef lets go for coffee and shopping soon! msg me on twitter @jujilee or email me juliaslee@gmail.com
Very, very cool! One of the most unique displays I have seen yet. Totally agree about the handbags. I am also not a fan of any bag where every inch is covered in logo... i.e. synthetic Coach bags splattered full of "C"s. I think any bag covered in logos looks cheap. Less is more :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having an awesome weekend!
Louis Vuitton do some insanely cool window displays. But I'm with on you the monogram front, especially with the Bond Street store - it's crowded full of people buying anything with the monogram on it, the louder the better! Sometimes I do wish I could have a walk around the store without all the people in there, it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLouis Vuitton does have the most amazing displays. Its amazing how much they are other luxury brands spend on their amazing windows to stand out.

I just took a shop tour and love the white sixties-inspired lace dresses popping around!
ReplyDeleteLove your pics and all the fashion news in London. I'm going there in July, so I can't wait. Hope you will continue to write about stores or things we can see in London!
ReplyDeleteSee you soon on my blog :)
I promise I will write a new article in a few days, and hope you will telle me what you think of it.
