It's no secret that I adore Lanvin, but I'm not just talking about the clothes and accessories. The Paris boutique is one of the few designer boutiques that actually feels quite homey and welcoming. And then there are the shop windows. Ah, they never cease to amaze me and if Alber decided to create miniature versions to sell, I'd be first in line to buy them. As this isn't the case yet, I have to resort to taking photos every time the store front changes.
Those who have missed out on the previous windows can check them out here. This time around, I noticed a lack of props Lanvin is usually so fond of. The mannequins, their faces covered in what resembles somewhat plain Venetian masks, seem to be performing various acrobatic exercises, but I have no idea why or what the actual theme is. The previous windows heavily promoted the Spring 09 collection - this time around the female mannequins were wearing what seems to be dresses from the wedding range.

The windows with the body parts in the women's section were a bit odd, but I'll have to give it to Lanvin... that's one interesting way to present jewelry and shoes. And behold the disappearing mannequin in the 5th pic. Here the Lanvin Femme windows, starting again with the main display:

wow this is epic! its so odd but so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! I wonder what the idea is behind this concept? It seems like they're all failing acrobats as they're all in falling positions, or lying down. How do they even get the mannequins in those positions?
ReplyDeleteThose Lanvin windows are sick! Great concept! Can't wait to visit Paris again, hopefully in Oct for fashion week. BTW, thank so much for your advice on the MMM coat, I will def. keep it a maxi! Today I will post pics of me wearing it :-))

I like the men's windows better :) I guess disembodied mannequin parts really make me squeamish. So... the more important question is: did you buy anything on this particular trip or was it just a window shopping kind of day? :)
ReplyDeleteWow these are so fantastic!!! The Homme one is simply perfect. I love the fact that they have such an interesting window, rather than just displaying their expensive wares.
ReplyDeletestop it stop it, you're killing me with these wonderful pics... london now has both ladies and mens store as well, but the paris windows do look a little more exciting...

Woah! Thanks for taking these shots!
ReplyDeleteWow. These are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThey go so much more over the top on window displays in Paris than they do in Vancouver.
But maybe that's no surprise to anyone.
I love it! It's so wonderfully creepy...like that famous wax museum in Paris where they show forms of medieval torture...I forget what it's called...
ReplyDeleteI wish Barney's in downtown San Francisco would do stuff like this!
