Marshmallow Mountain (London, UK)

Most people who like hunting for vintage items in London will head straight to Brick Lane, Camden and perhaps Portobello Rd. Shopping for vintage in the center might sound absurd, but shouldn't be ignored. Marshmallow Mountain is a perfect example - the interior as cute and fluffy as the name implies. Overflowing baskets with shoes and bags outside the store tempt anyone walking by. The store itself is crammed full of (more) shoes, bags, jewelry and of course clothes hanging from racks on both sides of the room.

The shoe selection isn't bad, especially if you're into quirky colored boots and adorable retro-inspired pumps, flats and sandals (prices approx 30-100 GBP). Some of the jewelry I found looked very new, so I'm not sure if it is in fact unused or just in excellent condition (starting at 3 GBP). The clothing - consisting mainly of dresses - ranges from formal to casual. This time around I saw more patterned day dresses than I did elegant evening ones, but or course the selection changes daily, so it really does depend on when you visit. Prices for these ranged from 25-120 GBP.

All of the items are in a good condition, quality of course dependent on the individual item. Some of the dresses were unlined and made of polyester, which isn't really my thing, but you should be able to find a few gems here and there. The bags are worth looking at too, especially if you like small purses or large slouchy bags. The sales staff lets you browse as much as want without interfering, but are very keen to help if you need anything. Not the cheapest place to get vintage, but it never hurts to drop by.
